Halsey House
Southampton, New York
Scope
Located in the Village of Southampton and constructed in 1683 by Thomas Halsey Jr, scion of one of the founding families of Southampton, the Halsey House is a jewel in the collection of the Southampton Historic Museum. Wisely following standards of appropriate stewardship, the Historic Museum hoped to determine a path for proper maintenance and repair intervention to ensure the longevity of this priceless artifact of Southampton history.
JHPA, Inc. was enlisted by the Southampton Historical Museum to undertake a site review and provide a Building Conditions Survey Report of the Halsey House and Garden, which is an interpretive site open to the public.
The report included recommendations for remedial intervention intended to guide the preservation and maintenance of this significant historic structure.
