The Rogers Mansion

Southampton, New York

Scope

Investigations have revealed that the first Rogers House was constructed in the 18th Century. That building was enlarged and incorporated into a Greek Revival residence in 1843 by Captain Albert Rogers. Subsequent owners added to the house at least two more time, the last being in 1926 with designs by the noted Grosvenor Atterbury. The Rogers Mansion has served as the headquarters of the Southampton History Musuem since 1943.

Although the Mansion was the subject of an Historic Structure Report in 2017, a more specific listing of conditions and recommended repair interventions was desired by the Museum. JHPA, Inc. was enlisted to perform an assessment of interior conditions, and provide a report with prioritized recommendations for repair interventions. The information gathered will assist the Museum with planning for maintenance and future expenditures.
