The Guyon Tavern

Staten Island, New York

Scope

The Guyon Tavern, constructed in 1819, has been serving the Richmondtown citizens for over 200 years. A venue for good food, drink, and music, it suffered a most unfortunate incident, when a car ploughed into the building in 2019. JHPArchitects PC were enlisted to determine a repair scheme that would save as much historic material as possible, and return the building to its former status. With a team that included a knowledgable client, and a skilled group of restoration craftspeople, the tavern is now back providing a great atmosphere in an historic setting.
