Hurricane Katrina Relief

New Orleans, Louisiana

Scope

Following the horrific devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Preservation Resource Center, of New Orleans, sent out requests for architectural and structural engineering firms to help with the rebuilding of the city. JHPA answered the request, providing pro-bono services for over a year to PRC’s “Operation Comeback”, the goal of which was to get homes restored and homeowners back home. Inspecting over 100 buildings in several affected neighborhoods, the team was able to get all of them off of the FEMA demolition list, and get folks back home.
