The Caleb Smith House

Smithtown, New York

Scope

Constructed ca 1819, the Caleb Smith House is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and serves as the exhibition hall for the Smithtown Historical Society. The Town of Smithtown was chosen to receive a Technical Assistance Grant from the Preservation League of New York State, and the Town enlisted JHPA, Inc. to complete an Existing Conditions Survey and Report.

The completed report has provided a guide for the Town to address conditions at the house that warrant attention, ensuring the protection of this historic resource.
